BOO HOO : ((

Again I could not upload the right info from my Garmin. Luckily, this time I wrote down the stats and manually entered it into Dailymile and the Garmin Connect site. When you enter the info it does not show the cool map and elevation grafts, or the splits, or the HR....I can not figure out what I am doing wrong but I think it has something to do with how I am trying to stop the training run!

Anyway, I ran 3.74 miles in 43.27 minutes. That equals to 11.37 min miles and that is with using the Jeff Galloway run/walk pattern.

Today, I do not think you are PRETTY!

Now hear this Missy Garmin..I have just about lost patience and if I do not figure you out soon, you may end up in a very dark dresser drawer!

Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

I could not figure out, for the life of me, how to download yesterday's workout from my garmin.  I worked on it until 10:30 last night and had to quit because I was scheduled to work this morning and my alarm starts ringing at 4:11 AM.

So,  I continued again today when I got off work methodically reading the guide book, working the bezel, bringing the ANT Agent up on the computer, placed the ANT stick into the USB port and Waaa Laaa..this time it worked!!!!  Or so I thought before I read the stats!!!

This crazy thing said I ran 6.36 miles...No WAY first of all!
Then it said I ran 7:54 minute miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness...does anyone know me?? Certainly, the Garmin does not know me!!!!At my best I can run 11 min. miles.

What did I do wrong? Maybe I did not clear out the last run..now that would make sense except the mile per minute should have been about the same.

Oh well, I will try again tomorrow!
Sure looks pretty!

Ok, Missy Garmin, I will give you another chance. I still love you but I am very disappointed in you for letting me down. When you get to know me better, you will know that there will be snowballs in Hell before I am able to run 7:54 min. miles!

Garmin 405

Today we went to church, had a dance lesson at noon, came home made a pot of stew and decided to go for a run. I dressed warm, I thought, put on my HR monitor and new Garmin and headed out of the house.

I had planned on running from my house to Eastlake, make one lap around, then head back home. I was just trying out the Garmin and wanted to get home to synch it to the computer. Even though I was dressed in layers, and was wearing gloves, I almost froze...it was brrrrrrrr cold!!!!!!!

When I tried to synch to the computer it kept saying THE DEVICE WAS NOT FOUND?????
Now I have to start from square one tomorrow morning and try to figure out what the problem is and to tell the truth I am not very computer savvy!

Chi Running Workshop

Today I spent from 8-4 at a Chi Running workshop. I had a wonderful time and even though I was one of the most novice runners, and have the most bad habits to correct, I felt a comraderie with everyone there. We were all there to learn a new concept and support and cheer each other on!
I have a lot to work on but I know, with time, I will improve my form, be more energy efficient and enjoy the run more.

Monday Morning

All Runs are Good: Some are Just Better Than Others!

Today I felt like I had weights in my shoes but by the end of three miles I was so excited because I thought I had cut time from my Saturday Run. Boy, was I wrong! Not only did I not improve but I was much slower.

Since I ran 5.6 miles on Saturday, today would be a short 3.25 miles. As soon as I got home, I sat at the computer and put my time into the DailyMile calculator.  I completed the 3 miles in 35.05, which I thought was faster than I have been doing..WRONG..that came out to 11:40..GRRRRRRR! When I added the time for the last .25 mile it remained the same..Now where did I get the idea that I had run faster?

I was pretty down but Hubby gave me a long pep talk ending with..If your time was faster would it make a difference in the Stock Market????   If it would, I guarantee I would somehow run faster!!!

Saturdays Run

Saturday was a beautiful day to run, the temperature was in the mid 40's and only 50 at the end of my run. I was amazed at all the people on the trail, guess I should have started a little earlier!

I think my final pace, would have to go back and check on Dailymile, was about 11:20 for 5.6 miles.  I know it was not over 11:30 which really surprised me because I am still trying the run/walk program. Because this was my longest run of my training, I was a little tired at the end but not enough that I could not have gone further.   Since I have eleven months to train,  I seem to be on the right track for a Marathon.

Thursday Run

Like I have said..All Run's are Good, Some are Just Better Than Others!

Today was a Good Run..Not a Better Run. I watched the two videos below and thought I should give this a try!

I tried to imitate what I had seen but my legs felt like a ton of bricks! I did complete 4.2 mile and felt like I could have gone a little further but was discouraged with my time. Today my pace was 11:55..not good!

As you heard in the Video, for my pace i should run between 2-2.5 minutes then walk 1. Well, I can not see that happening. I thought that would just frustrate me, but I did try it the last mile today. I listened to one song then walked a minute.  I do not know, guess I will just have to think about it and find the right pattern for me.

Monday's Run

I did some house cleaning this morning and started my run shortly before noon. Again today, it was windy but not as bad as last week. At least today I could stand up straight and not feel like I was bent in half because of the wind!

I ran 3.3 miles but can not seem to get my pace below 11:30. I look on DailyMile and most runners are 9 min and below!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I wonder how old they are, or does that matter?

I am going to a Chi Running clinic in two weeks and when I read the material today I about freaked out! I really think it is geared for a different type of runner than I am. The information talked about all the nice hills we will be running!  Hills..I do not remember signing up for that!!!???  I paid Mucho $$ for this clinic so I will stick with it and maybe pick up some useful tips. Hopefully, it will not kick my bootie and send me back a few weeks in my training.  I will keep you posted on the class and my take on it.

Through Daily mile, I am participating in a Challenge to burn 2800 calories in 30 days. That is the average amount of calories in a large Pizza. The prize is a $50 gift certificate from Shape magazine. According to DailyMile, today I burned 493 calories!  Off to decorate the house for Fall, have a Great Day!
